The 9th March 2026 marked the annual celebration of the commonwealth nations.
Each year a theme created to set a focus for the year ahead. The theme this year was ‘Unlocking opportunities together for a prosperous Commonwealth.' Highlighting the strong commitment to growth across the commonwealth countries. As Conservatives, we believe in building strong communities and a strong global Britain.
Medway Council commemorated the day by raising the Commonwealth flag at its Gun Wharf office, joined by Senior Shadow Cabinet Member Cllr Habib Tejan and The Worshipful Mayor of Medway Cllr Trevor Clarke. Recognising the shared history, values, and friendships between the union of 56 nations.
The nation saw the Royal family and leaders from across the commonwealth come together for the Service of Celebration at Westminster abbey.
The Medway Conservatives believe in standing up for opportunity, supporting aspiration and opportunity for every resident, and celebrating the diversity that enriches our local area.
