Medway Conservatives Continue to Fight to Save our Stroke Services

This morning Alan Jarrett, Leader of Medway Council and the Conservative Group, attended a meeting alongside MPs Rehman Chishti (Gillingham and Rainham), Kelly Tolhurst (Rochester and Strood), and Gordon Henderson (Sittingbourne and Sheppey) to gather clinician support from Medical Stroke Consultant Dr Mamun of Medway Maritime, and collectively reaffirm their view that a HASU should be sited at Medway Maritime Hospital.

Alan Jarrett said:

“During the meeting I informed the three MPs that Medway Council was extremely dissatisfied with the response received to its previous FOI request, and as such has submitted a follow up FOI this week. I do hope that the unsatisfactory and incomplete response that has been received thus far does not indicate that NHS Kent and Medway has something further to hide.

We are determined to get to the bottom of what has led to the selection of this awful recommendation to deprive over half a million people of their local stroke services.”
