Following today's Kent County Council elections, Medway Conservatives Leader, Councillor George Perfect, said the following:
Today has been a difficult day for Conservatives in local government up and down the country, and of course, that felt no greater than here in Kent. These results demonstrate the work needed to rebuild the Conservative Party from our worst ever general election result last year.
I want to thank my friend and colleague, Roger Gough, for his personal support since I became our Group Leader, and for his leadership of Kent County Council through challenging times including the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Conservative Party must unite, and focus on renewal in the months ahead.
