Commenting on Cllr Robbie Lammas’ resigning from Reform UK, Cllr George Perfect, Leader of the Opposition of Medway Council and Medway Conservatives Leader said:
“Cllr Lammas’ resignation from Reform UK and his public comments this morning demonstrate something we have being saying for some time. Reform UK are a one-man band without the experience to manage central or local government properly. The reality is Reform’s left-wing economics and public spending plans will leave us with more debt, more spending, and more tax for hardworking families. When it comes to defence and security, Reform is unserious about the security threats we face in a multi-polar world.
I commend Cllr Lammas on his resignation; it takes a lot to publicly admit when you make a mistake. Last year, I said that Cllr Lammas was wrong, and that only the Conservative Party had a positive vision for the United Kingdom and Medway - and that remains the same today.
Kemi Badenoch has renewed the Conservative Party and we are firmly back in the service of the British people. Locally, under my leadership and together with my Shadow Cabinet, we have undertaken the same renewal and are firmly focused on the issues that matter to local people.
As Medway Conservatives Leader, my Group and I remain focused on holding the Labour and Co-Operative administration to account and preparing for the shadow unitary elections in May 2027."
