Speaking on the news surrounding Medway NHS Foundation Trust and the dropped grouping plan, Cllr David Wildey, Shadow Cabinet Member for Health and Adult's Services said :

“We have serious concerns regarding the consistency of strategy and leadership at Medway NHS Foundation Trust.

We are now unclear of the Trust’s direction, and its arising consequences surrounding the future of leadership of Medway Maritime Hospital. This, months after yet another CQC inspection which found the Hospital required improvement. Stumbling from failed strategy to failed strategy is not good enough for our community.

The Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England and the Board of the Trust need to set out a clear strategy for the future of the Trust and importantly, one that delivers consistency of leadership which ensures results and a culture that both staff and patients deserve.”
