English Festival

An amazing day was had by all who attended this Saturday's English Festival, held at Riverside Country Park. The turnout was huge (perhaps the best ever!) and the activities, stalls and entertainment were made all the better by the spring sunshine.

Many Conservative Councillors were in attendance, with Councillors Barry Kemp, Jan Aldous, Gary Etheridge, Wendy Purdy, John Williams and David Wildey all lending a hand at the WI tent (The coffee and cakes were excellent as always!)

It was wonderful to bump into so many familiar faces, and Councillor Martin Potter particularly enjoyed stepping in for the Mayoress to help the Mayor, Councillor Steve Iles, judge the Town Crier competition.

We congratulate the many Medway Council staff who made it such a great day for all to enjoy, and very much look forward to next year's event!

Focus on Rainham

A reminder that the Focus on Rainham community festival is due to take place on Saturday 18th May between 10.30am and 4.30pm.

We are once again inviting horticultural traders, and Team Extreme will again host the wheel park. New for this year, alongside the wheel park, will be a bike activity that the whole family can join in on (from approx. ages 3 and up). Also new this year will be a big top where you’ll be able to watch aerial and tight wire displays and then have a go yourself! This will be alongside have-a-go juggling and other floor based circus activities.

They’ll be a craft tent, food and drink stalls, including the lovely WI tea tent, live music on the bandstand, and information stalls about local groups and Council services.

All the above form just part of the Council's offer of over 30 free festivals a year across Medway, which the Conservative Group have work hard to retain and improve year after year!
