Councillor David Brake has been a dedicated representative of Lordswood & Walderslade since May 2023, following his long-standing service in Walderslade from 2007 to 2023.
David has played a significant role in Medway’s governance, holding various leadership positions over the years. He previously served as Mayor of Medway from 2010 to 2011 and has been actively involved in shaping policies related to adult services and public health. From 2011 to 2023, he was the Cabinet Member for Adult Services, overseeing improvements in care and support for Medway residents.
His extensive committee experience includes roles on the Business Support and Digital Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee, and the Health and Wellbeing Board, where he served as Chair from 2015 to 2023.
Beyond his council duties, David has been deeply involved in community initiatives. A passionate supporter of youth development, he has worked with local scouting groups and serves as District Vice-President of the Scouts. He is also engaged in charitable work, including his role as Chairman of Safer Kent, an organization focused on crime prevention and community safety.
With decades of experience in local government, Councillor Brake continues to work towards improving Medway’s services, advocating for residents, and fostering strong community leadership.
