Howard has lived in Medway for most of his life and resides in his ward of Rainham South. He is married with 3 adult sons and 10 grandchildren. The former Secretary and Admin Director of London’s largest charitable housing trust, Howard has been a Medway Councillor since 2000. As a Chartered Secretary, he is/has been on the Boards of numerous charities and housing associations.

As well as being Deputy Leader of Medway Council, he is Cabinet portfolio holder for Housing and Community Services, a role in which he has overseen the complete overhaul of our Council Housing service - now recognised as one of the best in the country. On his watch, the Adult Education service was deemed ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

Closely in touch with many of the key issues facing the local community, Howard has a particular interest in developing the area’s cultural life and arts, and last year started the Focus Festival for Rainham which will now be held each year. Some of his recent successes include widening Medway’s profile with events such as Medway in Flames.


Chatham Waterfront Groundbreaking

Leader Alan Jarrett and Deputy Leader Howard Doe (who is also Chairman of Medway Development Company) spoke at this afternoon's ground-breaking event for Chatham Waterfront - which will provide 175 new apartments. 

Medway 20 Celebrations Kick Off at English Festival

Medway Conservatives were delighted to support this weekend's English Festival, held at Riverside Country Park.Those enjoying the festivities took part in twice the celebration, as Medway Council also kicked off this year's Medway 20 celebrations at the event.
