Josie has lived in Strood for 30 years and as the Conservative councillor for Strood South Ward she feels privileged to represent residents by serving to resolve issues, engage with Council services to ensure essential front line services are maintained and remedial works are carried out promptly and supporting the community need for infrastructure and economic growth improvement. She is a member of Business Support, Regeneration, Community and Culture and School Transport and Curriculum Appeals Committees and is also a member of the Kent and Medway Police and Crime Panel. Outside of council work Josie is chair of a local preschool, a friend and treasurer of two Friends Groups and a Trustee of the Broomhill Park. Josie was consecutively, Deputy Mayor and Mayor of Medway 2012/2013 and 2013/2014.


Medway Conservatives Love Strood!

This morning several Conservative Councillors were delighted to attend the celebratory ‘Love Strood’ event which took place to mark the completion of the Local Growth Fund improvement works at Commercial Road car park/Tolgate Lane.

Regeneration Progress at Strood Station

Councillors Steve Iles and Jane Chitty of Strood North, and Councillor Josie Iles of Strood South, were delighted with the progress being made by regeneration works taking place at Strood Station.
