Councillor Andrew Lawrence has been a dedicated representative of Hempstead & Wigmore since May 2023. With a strong background in business and governance, Andrew plays a key role in shaping Medway’s future.

Andrew has lived in Hempstead for 16 years and is deeply invested in the local community. As a Shadow Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Community, and Housing, he is committed to driving sustainable development and improving housing policies. He also serves as the Opposition Spokesperson for the Regeneration, Culture, and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee, ensuring that Medway’s growth aligns with residents’ needs.

Beyond his council duties, Andrew is an insurance broker and owns a successful insurance intermediary, employing 14 staff across offices in Maidstone and Malta. His expertise in business management brings valuable insight to his role in local government.

Andrew is passionate about education and has been involved in school governance since 2015. He currently chairs the Inspire Partnership Academy Trust. His leadership in education reflects his commitment to providing high-quality learning opportunities for young people.

With a strong track record in business, governance, and community service, Councillor Lawrence continues to work towards improving Medway’s infrastructure, supporting local businesses, and advocating for residents.
