Councillor Howard Doe has been a dedicated representative of Rainham South East since May 2023, following his long-standing service in Rainham South from 2003 to 2023.
Howard has played a significant role in Medway’s governance, holding various leadership positions over the years. He previously served as Deputy Leader of Medway Council and Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Services from 2015 to 2023. His leadership in housing policy has been instrumental in shaping Medway’s approach to community development and regeneration.
His extensive committee experience includes roles on the Regeneration, Culture and Environment Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Climate Change Working Party, and Health and Wellbeing Board, where he served as Vice Chair.
Beyond his council duties, Howard has had a distinguished career in business and finance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries, the Institute of Financial Accountants, and the Institute of Administrative Management. Before retiring in 2003, he was Secretary and Central Admin Director of the Peabody Trust and London Catalyst.
Howard has also contributed to charitable and nonprofit organizations, serving as a non-executive director for several charities, including the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation, West Silvertown Community Foundation, Providence Row, North London Hospice, and Fleur de Lys Foundation.
With decades of experience in local government, Councillor Doe continues to work towards improving Medway’s housing policies, advocating for sustainable development, and ensuring efficient public services
