Councillor Wayne Spring has been a committed representative of Rainham North since May 2023. In May 2025, he was elected Deputy Mayor of Medway, reflecting his dedication to civic leadership and community service.

Wayne serves on the Children and Young People Overview and Scrutiny Committee, where he channels his passion for youth development and welfare into positive outcomes for children in Medway. He is also involved in broader governance initiatives, including the Corporate Parenting Board, Fostering Panel, and Rural Liaison Board.

Originally born in London, Wayne moved to Essex as a young boy and was raised by his mother alongside his two brothers and sister. He relocated to Medway in 2001, where he has since made his home and raised a family. He has been married for 23 years to Sara, a Deputy Headteacher, and together they have two children, Ffion and Isaac.

Beyond his council duties, Wayne is an experienced legal professional, bringing valuable expertise to his role in local government.

With a strong commitment to public service, Councillor Spring continues to work towards enhancing Medway’s youth services, community engagement, and governance
