Councillor David Wildey has been a dedicated representative of Lordswood & Walderslade since May 2023, following his long-standing service in Lordswood and Capstone from 2003 to 2023. He is our Shadow Cabinet Member for Health and Adults' Sevices.
David has played a significant role in Medway’s governance, serving on various committees, including the Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee, where he has served as chair. His leadership extends beyond committee work—he previously chaired the Joint Health Committee with Kent and has been actively involved in local planning and business support initiatives.
A passionate advocate for his community, David has fought against the continuous threat of development in Capstone Valley, working to preserve the area for local residents. His commitment to public service was further recognized when he served as Mayor of Medway from 2017 to 2018, following his tenure as Deputy Mayor from 2004 to 2005.
Beyond his council duties, David runs his own decorating contract business and is a qualified tutor, contributing to education and vocational training. He has also been involved with various charities, supporting initiatives that benefit Medway residents.
With decades of experience in local government, Councillor Wildey continues to work tirelessly to improve Medway’s services, advocate for residents, and uphold the values of strong community leadership.
