Councillor Trevor Clarke has been a committed representative of Fort Horsted since May 2023, following his long-standing service in Rochester South and Horsted from 2008 to 2023.
Trevor was elected Mayor of Medway in May 2025, a role that allows him to champion Medway’s communities, heritage, and cultural scene. Originally from Bermondsey, London, he moved to Medway in 1967 and attended Lower Halstow and Tunbury Primary Schools, followed by Chatham Grammar School for Boys.
A long-time commuter, Trevor now works part-time for an international bank and has been actively involved in the local voluntary sector and Medway’s churches for many years. He has lived in Cloisterham Park since 1989, where he has run the local Neighbourhood Watch for more than 25 years.
Trevor first entered local politics in a 2008 by-election, and since then, he has served on various committees, including the Planning Committee. He has also held honorary positions with organizations such as the Arthur Ingram Trust, Rochester Grammar School for Girls Charity, and Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education.
Outside of politics, Trevor is guided by his Christian faith and has worked extensively with Churches Together in Medway. He is also an avid follower of Kent County Cricket Club, often enjoying matches at St Lawrence.
With decades of experience in local government and community service, Councillor Clarke continues to work towards strengthening Medway’s civic life and supporting its residents.
